- Raila has urged the candidates to exemplify honesty in the exams saying lifelong success comes only through hard work.

The National Super Alliance leader Raila Odinga has wished this year’s KCPE candidates the best of luck ahead of the exams which kick off on Tuesday.
“I encourage the candidates to realise that lasting success still comes only through hard work and playing by the rules.”
“No one should be tempted to try shortcuts,” Raila told the 1,002,922 candidates who will write the KCPE exams across the country between Monday and Thursday.
The rehearsals for the exams will be held on Monday ahead of the three-day exercise.
As is the tradition, Mathematics, English and composition will be the first to be tackled on Tuesday.
Candidates will be examined in Science, Kiswahili Lugha and Insha on Wednesday and finish their 8-year course on Thursday by sitting Social Studies and religious education.
Raila encouraged the candidates to be courageous during the entire examination process.
“It is a major transition that sees them progressively taking over their own future and ours as a country.”
The exams will be taking place at a time the country is experiencing heightened political environment.
